Access | From Drama:43 km, of which the first 31 km are asphalted and the remaining 12 km on forest road. To reach the summit: a 2-hour walk. |
Note | The refuge, which is a 3-storey building and operates as a hotel for the ski centre during the winter months, has rooms with3, 4 and 10 beds and an organized kitchen.

Access | a) From Ioannina to the village of Papingo:60 km of asphalted road, then a 3 ½ hour walk following a signposted footpath. b) From Ioannina to Tsepelovo:50 km, then a 4-hour walk along a footpath. |
Remarks | During summer, it operates under a guard and offers food. Otherwise, escort from the guard is obligatory. It is the second most visited refuge in Greece, next to the "Spilios Agapitos" refuge at Olympus. |
State | Good. There are works goind on all the time. In 1994 the refuge got burnt and destroyed by passing Albanians. The is also need for a refuge in the Gamila district |
