   The wild fawl in Aiani

For at least 20 years now the village Aiani in Kozani is well known for its genuine naturalistic and ecological feelings. Tenths of wild lives, such as herons, gulls, hawks, falcons and eagles have been rescued by bird lovers and, following local first aid administration, forwarded them to Aid Centers. In older days, we used to send poisoned or hurt birds for free by bus to Aigina (where the Greek Protection Center for Wildlife, but now there is a similar center in Kastoria.

A close-up of the falcon. The expression on its face and the open mouth show the pain the poor bird is in.
