How it started

The "Mountain Brigade" of Aiani was founded in September 8 2000. Its base is Aiani village in Kozani and it has 40 registered members. Many of them used to ascend the mountains of Macedonia in small groups or together with other mountaineering clubs. So, they thought, that from inside a newly formed club, all these activities would become more effective, they would remain as a good stock for the friends of nature. Living in the heavy environment of Kozani (thermo-electrical factories) the OBA members try to revenge the daily pollution through frequent escapes to nature.

The "Mountain Brigade" of Aiani is active in many domains, specially in unknown, although nearby, areas. Expeditions to peaks, gorge crossing, entrances in caves, hiking in old monasteries, free climbing etc, always accompanied by observation, study and history. The "Mountain Brigade" of Aiani offers the local civilisation various manifestations, speeches, projections, always having in mind the harmonious coexistence of technology and nature.
