Mountain maps

In cooperation with the Geographical Army Service, the 1999 Road Editions maps present in details: all the forest routes, dead ends, deserted roads, even roads that appear for the first time on a map; all main footpaths, traced by specialists mountaineers-chartographers; every information for naturalists, such as springs, waterfalls, gorges, mountain peaks, caves, names, limits of national forests, etc; every practical info for travellers; archaeological sites, castles, monasteries, cloisters, refuges, ski centers, gas stations, etc. The maps are GPS compatible. There is also included a special leaflet, in english and greek, with historical data, useful info, telephone numbers, villages index and a description of hiking paths. The first 5 maps of this series are: Olympus, Pilion, Parnassos, Parnitha, Oiti. Two of them already feature in our pages (Oiti and Pilion) - you can find all of them at the Road bookstore, bookstores and travellers' shops allover Greece.

Reliable maps in Greece


After 3 years of research, with the cooperation of the most experienced map-developing Greek Organisation, the Geographic Army Service, Road Editions present to demanding travellers the most reliable maps in Greece, where feature, in impressive details:

  • every geophysical information a naturalist would need: altitude differences, clearly stated in color, rivers, gorges, torrents, tracks, mountain heights, caves, beaches.
  • the whole road network, even the narrowest roads in the most deserted spots. The map gets updated twice yearly, so the information is the latest.
  • every practical information, such as gas-stations, distances in Km, boat-lines, etc.
  • a very rich amount of information for the plain traveller: unknown archaeological places, impressive tracks, monasteries, chapels, castles, mountain refuges, all presented very clearly.

    In the 1:250.000 series are included the maps of Creta, Peloponnese, Sterea Ellada, Ipiros-Thessalia; soon the maps of Macedonia and Thrace will appear.

    In the islands' maps series are included the ones of Corfu (1:100.000), Gia (1:40.000), Santorini (1:30.000), Syros (1:30.000), Rhodes (1:100.000), Kos (1:70.000) and Zakynthos (1:60.000).

    Pilion, the beautiful mountain of the Centaures, can be visited throughout the year.

    The people at Road chose it in their wish to present their new series, the maps of Greek mountains, aiming to fill-in a significant gap in Greek chartography.

    In this map is included every geophysical information. Also, a map of Volos, the town you have to cross, ascending the mountain. The map is bilingual (Greek - English) and there is also something impressive: four hiking suggestions, described in every detail, meter by meter. Finally, information on climate conditions through the year, vegetation, morphology, equipemnt you should have with.

    Oreivatein will present all of those maps..
    We start with the map of Pilion 1:60.000. The 1:100.00 maps will follow, then the ones of mountainous islands, the new mountain maps, as well as the presentation of the books on Peloponnese and Creta.
